What do "air traction" and "adjustable compression" mean on the ONBODY Back Brace Dr.Belt AirFit?

On the ONBODY Back Brace Dr.Belt AirFit by BMS CO., LTD., compression is the gentle pressure that holds your lower back in place, and traction is the small stretch you add by pumping air into the air cell bag. You decide how firm it feels.
The AirFit package carries three short phrases: Air Traction, Adjustable Compression and Pulley Fit. Here is what each one means in the belt's instructions for use.
What is the AirFit intended for?
Its intended use:
"This device is made to support your lower back. It presses gently on your lower back (compression) and holds it in place. You can change how firm it feels. When you pump air into the air cell bag, the device also pulls and stretches your lower back a little. This is called traction."
Its general name is Manual Air-Inflated Orthopedic Traction Device. "Manual" means you inflate it with the hand pump.
What do the three phrases mean?
| Phrase on the package | What it means |
|---|---|
| Adjustable Compression | The belt presses gently on your lower back and holds it in place, and you can change how firm it feels. |
| Pulley Fit | The pulleys press the air cell bag closely against your lower back when you pull the pull handles. |
| Air Traction | When you pump air into the air cell bag, the belt also pulls and stretches your lower back a little. |
The lumbar support, a firm panel inside the center belt, sits against your lower back. The air cell bag is the inflatable chamber behind it.
What do you control, and what stops it?
You set the firmness yourself. Start with light compression and low air pressure, then increase gradually, and stop adding air when the support feels comfortable and fits your body. The belt applies gentle traction only while you wear it with air in the air cell bag. To stop, press and hold the air valve button until all the air has left the bag.
Too much air or an overtightened belt can cut off blood flow and may cause numbness, tingling, skin damage, or injury. If the pressure feels like too much, press the air valve button right away.
